64digits Current blogs
(first 3 at time of writing)

new to 64Digits: about me
Well I'm new to 64Digits (relativly) but not to game development nor Game Maker.I first started developing games in 1997 using a program called Klick 'n' Play (no code but propostional logic) this help me as I started programming Visual Basic getting a A* in GCSE IT and A grade A' level in Computing. In 2004 I started Software Engineering BSc degree at Newcastle University, making games in GM all the way. Then I changed my course to Games and Virtual Enviroments.I'm due to graduate this summer.Having never really finished a GM game due to lack of interest or i just thought it was a bad concept, I'm not at all known in the GMC.At present I have a phew games in development the biggest and most important being a MMO game written in Java for my dissertation using a brand new never before implemented architecture. Another game in development is a horse racing game for a mobile phone, many more games are in development but not important enough to mention.More of my games present past and never done can be found at my website.

Mmmmac! Thats cool.

I have been using an iMac since about 2 months. I can say only one thing. Thats a monster! It has a good system ( Dual Core, Do More! ). And I love Boot Camp. When you use it, you can boot Mac OSX and Windows XP on same hard disk? ( OMG. ) How can it be? Even microsoft can't let two operating systems on one hard disk, iMac can ( or other macs ) can do that. And the most important thing; I can use Game Maker and play PC games on an iMac. I can play F.E.A.R. or DOOM 3 with great performance. I can't even play em with my PC.I made some commericals for mac. I made it for practise. No money nor respect. Only testing my skills.The first one is in Turkish language. "ikisi bir arada" means " two in one ".

TW - Pain in the IE's

Internet Explorer.An internet browser revered by many, who wouldn't give it up for Firefox for anything.Therefore, web developers must go through many a screaming night, fighting against Internet Explorers wide arsenal of bugs, sneaking through holes in the html, laying a minefield of hacks, launching racks of heat-seeking missiles, designed to only target IE browsers.I've fought in this war as have many others.I've come out sweating and shaking, but alive and victorious.This time however, the enemies are winningI've fought valiantly, but three days of on and off fighting are beginning to take their toll. I'm not sure how much longer I can hold them off.The mission was clear: create a way for the 64th Regiment to share code for their separate military projects while disabling enemies vertical S.C.R.O.L.L.B.A.R.S missiles (Surface to Code Re-Entrance Laser Lined Atmospheric Radar Scanning)Those of you who have been briefed already know of this project, code named RTF-Parser.You may need the proper Code Files to access.Keep all security full-force, as you collected the Code Files. Gold Level Security, Virus Scanners on High; I don't want my fellow soldiers getting hurt.It is in field-testing mode right now, but so far, the results look very promising:
CODE

selected = 0 // Whether the unit is selected or not

direction = 270 //The direction the unit is facing

image_index = direction/360*image_number //Display the correct sub-imageT

END OF CODE

he following test, however, had no effect against, IE's vertical S.C.R.O.L.L.B.A.R.S. -

CODE

//Regiment 64 IE Missle Testencryption_key = "advmqfpbjasdfjwljkqwrqwreopibtrmjopasijdfbasdflowenrknmbpoieqwrophvzxckbjnagnlwerjqthopbmjopasijdfbasdflowenrknmbpoieqwrmzxicvmoiwerqtrioqweurqwetzioxucvoaisudfoiuweoqiruqwernqiweoiuvozixcuvoiugfaqwetoqiweutoqiwetuqowieuotiqwet"if browser_name = "Microsoft Internet Explorer" and browser_version <> 5 and ammo !=0{//Launch Star Attackstyle = launch_attack(star,1000,c_max_height,c_auto_height)style2 = launch_attack(holly_hack,500,c_max_height,"1%",all)}decryption_key = "asdfasdfdfjwljkqwrqiwetuqowieuotiqwetjdfbasdflowenrknmbpoieqwrophvzxckbjnagnlwerjqthopbmjopasijdfbasrtymjopasioaisudfoiuweoqiruqwwryweryernqiweoiuvozixcuvoiugfaqwetoqiwjdetzioweryweryweryxucv"

END OF CODE

So far, our star missiles and Holly bombs, have been unsuccessful.My fellow soldiers, if anyone can hear this S.O.S. and you have any weapons that could help...TwistyWristy
